Question 99 elpto problem

While replacing the carriage bearing assembly, the prop shaft came out. I was told that is not suppose to happen. Do I need the lower end taken apart and gone through to find out what's wrong? No, I did not drain the oil out before I pulled the assembly out.

Not sure what motor you have but you can remove prop shaft without removing shift shaft on some models.
