Hey I just rebuilt a 96 9.9 2 stroke new rings new gaskets new plugs and wires and rebuilt carb. The problem I am having is that the motor runs strong for 2min at idle then misses once and dies. I have no clue how to fix this. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. The motor will not stall at higher rpm it has been run for 1.5 hrs with 130psi compression in both cylinders. I was having the same problem before I rebuilt the carb it runs for 2 min at idle then dies and I did not have any top end power. Thus I though it a good idea to rebuild the carb and have same problem after the rebuild at idle but dont know about the top end. I also rebuilt the fuel pump.

If it pops or coughs and shuts off then it's running too lean and probably still has plugged jets or passages in carb or an air leak on intake manifold or crankcase.
