Default 8 pin connector wire diagram
Can anyone tell me on a 8 pin connector harness the wire color for each terminal and where it goes. Thanks.

red= 12 volt positive
black= ground
purple= 12 volts key on power
grey= tach signal lead
black/yellow= ignition stop circuit
yellow/red= starter circuit
yellow/black= choke circuit
tan/blue= warning horn

So is pin 1 red, pin 2 black,pin 3 purple etc, etc?
