I'm looking to convert my 72 merc 7.5 outboard to remote control, and eliminate the tiller, to use this as a kicker outboard. i have a 77 Wellcraft Airslot 165 Fisherman, with a 76 merc 115. the 115 runs great, but while pulling crab pots i would like to just sip fuel with the kicker. the boat was original equipped with a 7.5 kicker and the controls are still there with the throttle and steering rod, but the owner removed the outboard when he sold it. i purchused a duplicate outboard but it has a tiller.. any help would be appreciated.
