Default 3.3 Merc

Hi, I'm working on a 3.3 Merc ser#OD931968. After a full power run for approx8 minutes to the duck blind, I then shut it down and could not restart it. After a few pulls trying to restart, raw gas was noted coming from the exhaust area. Flooded badly I suppose. I've since opened the carb up expecting to find debris in the float/needle valve/seat area, but the area is spotless.

I haven't got it running since this problem started. All the carb's components seem Ok, no gunk or debris. Can a float change buoyancy? Also what is the setting/demension it should be at.

The motor has good spark and the plug is in good shape too. I'm not sure where to go from here............help!!!

Since that engine doesn't have a fuel pump then it would have to be carb flooding or loss of spark at plug.
I have seen bad floats in carbs where there would be gas inside of float.

If there is gas in the float, it's not detectable when I shake it. Would it be detectable, even in a small ammount? I would think you'd be able to hear it.

What would you recommend at this point? Thanks!!!!!!

It's running now!

Well on the advise of a co-worker I replaced the spark plug with a new one. He's got more two strokes than I, so I figured what the heck. The little motor fired right up with out the choke even. I'm guessing that the original plug must've got fouled deep down inside where it was hard to see. Upon inspection the plug is a nice tan color like they're supposed to be, but it's a bad one just the same.

Now I can go and scout out more duck hunting spots! Yeah!!!!!!!
