2001 75hp mercury misfire problem?

Hello!!! We have a 2001 75hp which has a pop at low thru mid-range rpms. It goes away at high rpms or real low idle. Can anyone give me ideas or solutions to this?!!? The motor only has a couple of hrs on it since 2001 and has been sitting for the past 8yrs... It did fire right up, but has this miss now..... Thank you!
