Default 1996 50 horse fuel pump question

Hello, new to the board but not to boats.net.
Recently purchased a new fuel pump from boats.net and when I checked the gauge readings they were low. The vacuum reading is 8", spec is ~10", and the output is 2 psi and the spec is 3-6. Is this adequate? I'm having some problems with the top cylinder and I know it's at least getting some gas up to it. Unfortunately I don't have readings from the previous one before it went bad.
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the fuel pump should be ok. A variation in the guages would change the PSI readings.
