The low oil warning kicked on while heading back to the boat launch and would stop when backed down to about 1000 rpm. I still have approx. 1 gallon of oil in the oil tank and noticed the oil reservoir about half full.
Does this sound like the pump may have died or more likely an oil injection system leak? The motor is still smoking at idle/no wake speed.
If the oil tank on engine is half full then check oil and pressure hoses and check that oil cap on boat oil tank is sealing, That system is a pressure system(eng crankcase pressurizes boat oil tank) any air leaks and it will not feed oil to engine tank.
If the cap on the motor tank leaks it's gonna make a mess. Check the oil tank pick up. The tank adapter should unscrew from the tank. If it's good check the engine pressure check valve. It could be stuck open allowing the air to pulse as appose to pushing air towards the tank. And of coarse check for kinked pinched lines. Hope this helps
