1985 Mercury Black Max Trim Tabs

My friend lost his trim tam off of his 1985 150 black max motor and after he lost it the boat motor would torque to the right. So when he went to buy a new one they told him that they don't make an adjustable one for his engine and if they did you couldn't adjust it enough to take out the torque So the one they sold him has no adjustment so what good is it.I remember with some of the old Mercury's I had that you could adjust the trim tab but this guy says they don't adjust. Does anybody know where I could find an adjustable one for my friend so as to make his boat run right.?

You just loosen bolt that holds trim tab in place and push trim tab to one side or the other and retighten bolt.

Like I said the trim tab they sold him does not adjust it is fixed in one position . We aren't that dumb we know that it won't adjust.So do you guys know where we could buy one that is adjustable.?

31640A 1 is the original trim tab part number.
