Twin 115 HP 1984 mercs. Port motor when put into reverse the motor kicks up. Works ok after initial kick up problem. Starboard motor works fine (No kick up). Is this a problem that should be addressed or is it no big deal.

Sounds like it has a valve inside power trim unit leaking. The trim unit may have to be rebuilt.
