Default 1979 Mercury 115 HP trim

I took apart trim pump motor and thought everything was alright but when I looked at the diagram (I think its the right diagram) it shows 2 - "washer, thrust armature". I did find any washers while removing the armature. Should I order new washers or am I looking at the wrong diagram? I have a 1979 Mercury 115 HP Ser # 5240030.

Be certain that they are not stuck to the armature or in the case. They are very thin and can sometimes sticky. If not then yes, they work as shims, replace them.
