Hello,
I have a 1974 85 Hp merc 4cyl I am mounting on a boat for a friend. The motor has the two ram tilt/trim system and is in the up position. I want to lower it without powering the system just yet. Is there a release valve or some type of pressure release valve on the system? If so, where is it and what does it look like? Also, what is the reverse lockout valve on the pump supposed to do? If I turn the knob, it just unscrews and leaves me looking at a threaded shaft. How should it operate?
