I have a 15hp, 4 stroke, year 1999. It takes all I have to pull the recoil. Sometimes it will plain stop and I have to retract the recoil and start over. I have to stand up and give a good full body pull to get it to turn over.

I use to use one hand to get it started but now I feel like I'm at the gym which takes all the fun out of going out fishing.

Any thoughts?

Let your dealer check it to see if compression release is working.
