Default 02 optimax help

I have an 2002 175hp optimax and I am getting an oil alarm beep. After about 30 seconds after starting it beeps 3 times and the smart craft readout flashes the oil can, engine and alarm bell.

I have checked the main oil tank and it has 2 gallons. Checked the engine oil tank and it was about 3/4 of an inch low. So I filled it up and it is still beeping.

I have checked all the hoses and the lids for air leaks and it all seems good and tight. I see an inline filter of some sort on the oil line just before it goes into the engine oil tank. Dont know if that has to be changed so often.

I have not changed the water seporator filter for about 2 years. Can't imagine it would be one of those but thats why I am posting for some help.

Also I can be running the boat and when the alarm goes off it doesn't change how the engine runs.

Suggestion/Ideas?
Thanks for your time!
Justin
