  • For: the boats.net Parts People-----Fuel and Spark Plug Questions

New to me….. 40ELPTO- 2 cylinder (Serial Number-OT416166). I was contemplating adding a Yamaha 10 Micron Mini filter to the fuel line of this engine (as I have installed on a Yamaha 8 and 50 HP 2cycle)..

I discovered that the OEM filter looks clean and is supposed to have water float ring, to warn of the presence of water. (cleanable and water indicator-great combination)

Checking the parts catalog, it shows a fuel filter part number of 891642T03---or--- 87946T14 ?? as being Obsolete.

Why is this Filter obsolete ? and What is the OEM factory replacement number, if one ?

Your recommendation on the Yamaha filter ???

Lastly, which is the correct Spark Plug to use ? BP8H-N-10---or---BPZ-8H-N-10---and Why ??

    Thanks for your Help.
